  • Raw veggie dip

Nutrition Inspiration:
Red Long of Florence Onion has antibacterial and antiseptic properties due to beneficial sulphur compounds. A good source of antioxidants, such as quercetin and anthocyanin, also high in Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron. The green tops can replace scallions in any recipe making this variety a 2-in-1 dynamic duo. The flavor profile is subtler than traditional red onion so you can enjoy this glorious red bulb sliced thinly either pickled or fresh in a salad. I used to love the Sweet Vidalia Onion dressing as a kid until I realized the truth about store bought salad dressings being laden with poor quality oils and sugar. So, with that in mind, I swapped out honey and good olive oil for those less favorable ingredients and used a seasonal favorite from Star Light Gardens: Red Long of Florence Onions! Yum!!
